My "time for service" message came on about a year after I had my 12-month/15,000 mi checkup. I called my Saab dealer and told them the miles on the car (around 19,000) and they had me bring it in, only to tell me later that it didn't need the 24 month service b/c I didn't have enough miles (I think its 30K) although they recommended an oil change at the tune of $70, which I declined. The car probably had about 12,000 miles when we did the 12-month tune up (same dealer, different garage).

I can't seem to find anything in the manual that indictes if the tune up is supposed to be done at 24 months/30K or whichever comes first. Why would the car need an oilchange after 12 months if I only put 7K on it? I thought the oil changes were done every 15K. I am supposed to get the first 2 tune ups (12 months and 24 months) free of charge so is this the dealers way of getting out of my second free tune up?

Appreciate any advice you can give me on this.
