I like 9-5 steering, it takes the car exactly where I point it, but it isn't twitchy. "Slow but accurate," is the the way one reviewer put it ...
Oh, wait, tarheel took steering, sort of, so I'll have to take another fav feature:-)
At high speed, my '99 9-5 seems to gain rather than loses stability. I can feel it kind of hunker down as I move out of the 70s.
The first time my daughter drove it, then an impetuous teen, I was in the back seat perusing the Sunday paper and enjoying the sound of my sport exhaust from that vantage point. She seemed to be driving at a brisk clip, and we seemed to be repeatedly passing the same bmw.
"Dear, how fast are you going," I queried. "95!, and it wants to go faster!, Dad," she replied, adding, "that guy in the beemer is figuring out he can stay ahead of me only if I let him."
"Aaaach! Slow down! Get out of the passing lane!" I said, pulling my nose out of the sports section (and noticing she had fibbed, the speedo indicating about 5 mph over her report). But the Saab felt fine at that speed.
