Hello, The tools you need are a socket set (for bolts) AS WELL AS a set of combination wrenches (for the battery cable clamps) a battery brush and a pair (1 red,1 green) of felt washers for the battery posts. You made it sound as if you don't own any tools. If that's the case; now is a great time to buy them. Get sets, not individual tools. You'll be using all of them real soon. With the old battery out of the car wash the tray and the surrounding area with a solution of baking soda and water (3 heaping tablespoons per quart of warm water) and rinse. You'll be amazed how much fizzing you'll see around the battery's home. Also, if there is a tray on which the battery sits, remove it (with the socket which fits) and do the same cleaning under it. Submerge the cable clamps in the same solution (use a paper cup) and brush off all white deposits with the battery brush. The white stuff is lead oxide. It's called crud. Crud between the post and clamp on a battery resists the flow of currant and taxes your charging system. Get a small can of spray battery terminal sealer and some paper. Use the paper to mask your spraying action. Tear a small hole in one piece of paper for spraying the battery posts and carefully mask around and spray the clamps once you attach them. All this sounds like a lot, but it's not. It's called "Battery Service". With it you lengthen your battery's life and that of your charging system. You'll also avoid a common "no-start" condition on a damp or rainy day. Get to work, Kira
