It sounds like you have a 4cyl. My experience is with the 6, so maybe these do not apply.
First, put in some (if you have not been doing this) injector cleaner.
Another thing to consider, replace the fuel filter, and also, consider replacing the air filter.
Spark plugs are a funny thing - they may work, but not A+ after 15k miles; forget the manual as it indexed to minimize maintainability costs.
Also, consider that the fuel pump motor is going bad. Or, maybe the battery - might be enough to turn the engine but not enough to fully arc?
There is the butterfly valve to inspect, in the throttle body. Clean the axis and the seal where the door meets the inside diameter for the housing.
