The 2003's are kind of a catch 22. It's the last year before GM started decontenting the car. IT has heated rear seats, weather band on the radio, umbrella holders, a bunch of other stuff. But, it has the old style 1980's SID that loses pixels, and doesn't come from the factory with a good PCV setup, so it's susceptible to sludge.
The 2004 Aero's (the best IMHO) lose the umbrella holders, heated rear seats, and WB, but you get the updated SID that doesn't lose pixels, freaking sweet front and rear bumpers, awesome 5-spoke rims, and an appropriate PCV setup from the factory (very few, if any reports of sludge 2004 and up).
2005 is the same as the 2004 Aero, but they cheapened some stuff even further, deleting the locking fuel door, and I'm sure a few more piddly things.
2006+ is when it all went wrong. With that God-awful front end and weird interior, it's no wonder Saab's 9-5 sales are in the crapper.
