The heater control valve has those spring type clamps that we all have learned to despise, particularly since it is difficult to get a normal set of pliers in the correct position to release the tension on those clamps. The solution is to pick up a set of Craftsman Cable Operated Hose Clamp Pliers at your local Sears store ($39.99). These things really simplify this job big time.
