Hello, 2000 95 Aero Automatic.
When I drive it from cold in the morning about 20 min into it the trans looses is shift position indication and goes into limp home mode. After a 5 min sit you can shift back into drive and all is fine.
I am told there is a cable mechanism under the battery that needs to be replaced. Question - is this a straightforward job or does it require a lot of finesse? Also what is this part called?
Last ? does it hurt the car to be driven in limp home mode? When this happens I do so sparingly but would like to know.
Thank you
