i hAve had this problem since 65,000 miles .

have tried all there is and it is still there .

they will give you all types of advice and the one i found most credib;e .and i just printed it out ,is in one of the responses here .i just printed it out.

anyhow ,there is a web site that tells us this is a design defect. and i buy this .why else do all of us keep going thru this . just do a google and you will find it .----saab rear suspension problems ------ and it is also in other GM cars made during the period the saab 9.5 was developed .

my solution has been to buy new rear tires every 8 to 11,000 miles as the noise gets worse. in my case i also get uneven surfaces or feathering.

and i have tried all including ,shims. i have 3 shims per rear tire . and the alignment is still off .

so , i am now moving to buying inexpensive tires . i do have 7 other cars ,but my 2000 aero is still my favorite for some long trips in local roads .
