Heavy rain + big puddle = no serpentine belt Posted by GFW3pedals [Email] (#405) [Profile/Gallery] (more from GFW3pedals) on Mon, 28 Feb 2011 10:06:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Unbelievably, after driving through a deep puddle at about 5 mph in a parking lot, convieniently since I just parked it after the failure, the serp belt popped off and disabled the car. I see that I'm not the only one this has happened to, so take heed. Now, in fairness to the car and brand,..I do believe I am missing some of the plastic splash guards from underneath, which as I recall most folks that replied to my inquiry regarding the necessity of said splash guards, responded that they are really not needed! I definitely will be searching the local bone yards come nicer weather for those. I guess it was inevitable anyway, just got the car a few months ago and am not sure of the condition of the pulleys and tensioner, but no noise or other problems. It's the 30+ mile flatbed charge that I'm really P.O.ed about. There goes the tax money.
