by having your tech remove the module as mentioned above; with the left front wheel off, it takes only a minute or two.
Then, have the tech use the Tech II to both diable the SID message AND turn off the whole stupid lock/unlock noise thing. Personally, I really don't like the horn honking when I lock or unlock the car.
I have an '01 Aero, and it's nice to be able to come and go without those beeps or honks. I removed the module and was going to send it out for rebuild, but I liked the silence so much I had my tech turn off the audio "acknowledgments" for locking and unlocking.
It's just about impossible to steal a modern Saab without a flatbed - and the siren going off isn't going to attract any meaningful attention anyhow, IMHO.
