I agree with you. The 9-5 Combi is a great looking wagon.
I wanted a wagon much more than I wanted a stick. A sedan was simply not an option for me, though there are plenty of sedans with stick shifts.
I almost put good money down on a stick wagon last spring before my wife and I moved back. To date, it's the only stick wagon I've seen go on the market which I would consider buying since I've been looking (about 18 months).
I'm picky. My list of musts was long:
'04 or newer (unless I bought Peter Martin's '02 or something similarly well-documented)
Aero (only exception would have been the Aero-less '06 model year with sport package)
No tan/parchment interior
No cars with 16" wheels (There are a lot of Aeros with 16" on them out there)
No black or metallic red cars.
Fewer than about 80K miles, but that depends on the car's history.
I got what I wanted, and my wife loves it.
We were looking for a car sooner than expected due to some terribly unfortunate family happenings while my parents were visiting my wife and I overseas. (My wife won't be driving the car until she gets the go-ahead from her neurosurgeon after she broke two vertebra in a car accident... We're hopeful it will be next week. I lost my dad in the same car accident.)
