Part 49 43 692 Posted by AdamSAAB2kAero [Email] (#1826) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamSAAB2kAero) on Wed, 10 Oct 2012 15:33:38 In Reply to: Cranks but doesn't start...unless, cmack, Tue, 9 Oct 2012 23:10:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The Part 49 43 692 is the ignition switch.
It connects to the ignition tumbler lock (underneath). In the WIS it's under IGNITION SWITCH WITH CONNECTOR. Eeroparts calls it an IGNITION SWITCH but on the box it is written CONTACT as the description of the part.
Someone has written about this switch before and they found it was wet when taken out. Wet from WD40 or some other oil. Mine had the same oil.
Bottom line: DO NOT SPRAY ANYTHING IN THE TUMBLER LOCK.
Just spray some on a paper towel then wipe the inside (take top out) of the ignition tumbler lock if it sticks. Maybe use a dry lubricant.
All is working correct because I changed this part and yes it was a PITA.
Cheers!
