I've noticed over the years that a true high quality deep socket (like Craftsmen), the internal cross section usually remains the same far up the socket. Medium quality deep sockets often bridge the cross section somewhere part way up the socket to gain strength, which will cause interference with parts like sensors. Cheap deep sockets often look like high quality sockets internally but of course will fracture under heavy torque. For a sensor which is set in place under low torque, cheap works fine :)
