I have a set in the garage and I don't even have a combi! ha! Anyway, those clamps (and bars) are readily available used even. they work extremely well and are lockable. Yakama makes something equivalent, but I generally find I like Thule clamps better. Yakima bars are stronger. Plus, depending what bike he has, sometimes the Thule bike racks are a little nicer imho and then you can have them all keyed the same... depends what sort of model you want... many of the yakima bike racks are good also... I'm using a yakima hilite hitch rack for bikes on our 9-5 and it is good.
Actually, I just realized - it is possible to get a combi that doesn't have roof rails... then you want the Saab cross bars for the sedan... not the thule ones... I have those also + they suck...
