feeding whatever solvent from a bottle via a pipe through the drain plug hole . . . and adjust the height of that bottle to control/manipulate the solvent level in the oil pan. One can in theory "douche" the oil pan that way, before "douching" the solvent out with cheap conventional motor oil, then finally fill with synthetic oil. What would be a good solvent for the "coffee grinds"? How is its effect different from, say, synthetic motor oil itself? Seems to me most organic solvents are carbon chains in the length of 10-15 carbons or so, essentially kerosene to motor oil range.
I got a 6mm endoscope as christmas gift, and I will try to see what's in there the next time oil change comes up. IMHO, much of the concern may just be nothing, especially for people running A3/B3-compliant full synthetic.
Anders also mentioned the need to poke a few holes in the pickup screen mesh. I wonder if the operation is do-able via the drain plug with a rod that has a small sharp L hook at the tip.
