Dropping the oil pan is no small task. For the first time doing the job I'd rate it a 9 out of 10, 10 being the car is screwed and needs to go to the mechanic to get it fixed. Reason being is the amount of force needed to push the motor over and jacking up the transmission to get the oilpan to go back in.
First time around I found the job a serious challenge reinstalling the pan and if I was just using floor jacks and didn't have a motor hoist..(the pic) I can't see it being done. I had to remove the pan in my car twice & doing the job a second time around was about a 4 out of 10 knowing all the steps and I seriously man handled the motor with the engine hoist the 2nd time around and got the motor way over to make plenty of room for the pan to go in.
If the turbo stud has you chicking out you might not want to know what's in store for you when reinstalling the pan. Personally ill never drop the pan in my car again maybe I would if my oil light starts to flicker when the motors at idle but other than that, no way man
