I agree, check the wire connections Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Sat, 5 Jul 2014 07:03:58 In Reply to: Does it come on at idle?, Mark from Toronto, Thu, 3 Jul 2014 23:49:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Your old pressure switch was fine. All it needed was a new seal, and for the mechanic to say your turbo is leaking from the manifold is another generalization to where the leak is. Sounds like your mechanic needs to make a boat payment. (Got that phrase from car talk)
The entire turbo unit is bolted to the manifold, so as you can see he's in a way telling you the truth. I'd find another mechanic and have him/her check the pressure switch wiring, the turbo oil pipe, radiator pipe bolts, and for any leakage. Tell the new mechanic your old pressure switch was replaced because it was leaking and never had a problem with an oil light, right after replacement the light is now coming on ..... Intermittently, although that might be to big of a word so might want to use ' sporadically, wait no that won't work either. Just say it comes on every now and then.
