So I was driving home on Friday night, drove for a over half an hour as smooth as could be, and then the warning lights came on, my headlights started flickering (which is not too uncommon with my >8yrold xenons) but then I noticed that the flickering seemed to be RPM-related!! As I accelerated, the headlights would turn on and then die out as I came to a stop light.

Then I got on the freeway, and it went fine for a while, but then things started going bad. Lost my headlights completely, then the radio and HVAC lights started going in and out, and then the engine started stumbling, and died pretty quickly thereafter. It wouldn't really even try to restart.

The rest of my way home was on a tow truck. :-(

I jump-started it OK the next day, only to make it about twenty yards before dying, and then I charged the battery enough to get into my garage. Now I'm going to start the alternator-extraction process.
