I leased a base 9-5 (today's Linear) for 3 years and recently upgraded to the Aero. The Linear is a great car. In both "normal" and "sport" mode, it's very fun to drive. I'm no stop-light drag racer so who cares about 0-60. It always had more than adequate passing and merging power (and now it has 15 more horses and 1 extra gear). The main reason why I upgraded to the Aero was because of the great deals right now. I was all set to buy out my lease when it turned out I could lease a new Aero for less money (with free maintenance). True, I could have leased a Linear for even less money, but, unfortunately, I test drove the Aero on a whim.

In many ways, the Aero is "too fast". I often find myself way over the posted speed limit without really even trying. On the other hand, "too fast" is a lot of fun. Passing on two lane highways is a rush. The seats are awesome and my wife really hated the Linear's light wood trim (and really likes the Aero's silver dash - which was basically how I sold her on it - nice seats and dash :). I don't mind the firm ride (and appreciate how it helps in the corners), but my wife preferred the Linear's. I'm lucky in that I don't do alot of rush hour driving. Most of my miles are on the open road where, with prudence, one can stretch the Aero's legs a bit. Then again, the Linear was pretty good at this as well. If I mostly did rush-hour commuting, I'd probably would have stuck with the Linear.

Hate to come to this non-conclusion, but you'll love either one... at least I did/do.
