Believe me, I would rather do this with my open end 17mm wrench. But the only one of the four joints it would fit was the broken one. The others I had to use the bike tool on...not enough room for a real wrench after six or seven turns, there was enough clearance for a real wrench, but you have to get to that point. One could use a needle nose vise grips I guess, but not much leverage with that.
I just did not want to see the guy start the job without the tools he may need. It really sucks to do all this and you cannot finish the job because you are missing one cheap tool.
Think I used the same bike wrench to install the Koni Sports on the back of my old 1994 900 SE and on my 5.7 liter V8 boat motors with Volvo outdrives. Not to mention I have a garage full of bikes I have built myself so I have a few hundred dollars worth of Park bike tools.
For a few bucks, always good to have in your toolbox.
