Window roller in, but off window channel Posted by Navid [Email] (#2069) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Navid) on Tue, 2 Dec 2014 18:54:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi there,
Late Monday night before leaving for a trip I tried to get the rollers in (by the light of a worklamp in the cold). Hands were freezing.
I put the new rollers on, two snapping sounds with channel lock pliers.
But when I raised the window up, window must have been out of track and now the rollers slid off the window channel. The rollers and pin are still on the scissor arms of the regulator. I noticed the window was out of the weather stripping track on the mirror side and thus must have caused resistance.
Q: Can I shimmy the window at angles to get the rollers on the window channel, while keeping the window in the right track of the door trim?
I tried hard but everytime I got the window rollers back on the channel, the window was out of the trim track.
I just want to know if its possible, or should I just give up and take the rollers off and start afresh. Also, can I reuse these rollers by taking them off gently, or once they are popped on - you can't get them off effectively?
