that's the deal , some valves only leak when activated , so when it is sitting , there's no leak . But when the vacume activates the valve , coolant spews through the diaphragm . For the 3.0 V6 there isn't any "hose bypass kit" like the 2.3 engine has . Mine doesn't leak , but I replace them every 60-80k usually when the thermostat is yanked . I have looked and studied this stupid setup , and it really should be replaceable with a plumbing Tee fitting . I get the valves for catera/gm cheap , they have so many identical twins . You can pay top dollar for a $12 valve . Yes, check with the warranty .
It is also worth checking along the firewall closer to the brake booster is the "auxiliary heat pump" , which looks like a fuel pump . They almost always don't work , and can leak .
Put on a new coolant cap as well . That is the only way to keep the system pressure optimum , and they do not last forever .
Let's here it for the Dashboard Info Display ! I am amazed @ how many cars have nothing to say . Saabs tell you what's going on !
