typical failures for SPA (SAAB Park Assist) system are the proximity sensors themselves.
The {left and right} outside ones tend fail first /more often.
I've also seen the 9-5 Park-distance system "freak-out" just due to dirt or water covering the sensor ends.
When this happens though the "park assist failure" message is not displayed, as the self test functions of the system circuit have all passed a functions check.
The wiring for SPA is in the bumper cover.
The trunk wiring harness is only for the lighitng in the trunk lid (center tail lamps, license plate lamps) and the electronic latch-release for the trunk-lid locking/latch-release)
