I've had:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (225/45/17. Great, expensive)
Hankook Ventus v4es (225/45/17. Mediocre at best, not expensive)
Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 (235/45/17. Great, not very expensive)
Continental Extreme WinterContact (225/45. Great, not cheap)
All of those were on my 9-5 Aero Wagon.
I think that listing brands only isn't too helpful, because they all make tires for very different purposes, some that fit every car imaginable. In fact, it's not unlike comparing identical tires on a Chevy and a Saab. ;o)
My expectation of the tires is crisp handling and turn-in, decent wear/life, good dry and wet grip/traction, and I have a set of dedicated snows, so those deal with the winter.
I liked the Continental DWS tires so well (currently on the 9-5), I put a set on my 9000 Aero, and arranged for my mom to get her A4 wagon setup with some as well.
