R&R throttle body went well....long Posted by GFW3pedals [Email] (#405) [Profile/Gallery] (more from GFW3pedals) on Mon, 13 Jun 2016 06:41:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
for the most part. Had symptoms of surge/stumbling while in cruise, then the TCS off and check engine and wouldn't idle then stall. Install was fairly simple, what I think is part of the EVAP system hose near the firewall was rotted and almost split ( which could have contributed to random EVAP leak codes ) luckily I was able to fit a piece of scrap hose that I had saved on there, not exactly right but it seems to work. The lower breather hose from the valve cover check valve was broken off too. I'm thinking that this alone didn't cause the issue? I know I have replaced it once before and the car showed no symptoms. Anyway, little or no coolant leakage to be concerned with, as others have posted. TIP - I used a few dabs of HONEY to hold the gasket in place, worked great! One, maybe two mistakes: I forgot to tighten the radiator side of the intake plenum, which blew off on the first test drive causing absolute mayhem - stalling- no power - check engine flashing furiously - barely made it back to the house, 2nd test run it blew the plenum off the TB, which I thought was tight enough. Hence cranked down on both of them and all is good. Back on the road with no lights and running fine.
