I bought an '05 9-5 lpt with low miles thinking I was getting a reasonable deal, being aware of a few issues but thinking it was worth the risk. Also seeing that I got a LOT of miles from another 9-5.
Anyway lots of issues are raising their head unfortunately.
I have a frequent acceleration issue at low speeds and mostly - but not always - in warm temps. The car just kind of almost dies.
When it happens it seems to be starved for gas and felt at first - as I wrote on here in another post - that it was a hard pedal.... stupidly because the pedal of course is no different.
It just FEELS different because the accel response is not there.
When it happens it will NOT climb or accelerate in any reasonable way. I'm lucky if I'm not in traffic or at a cross road.
If I stop and give it a few mins it will often get at least a little better and sometimes perfect.
The car starts well. Has been tried with 2 good DIC's, has new plugs, has Techron in it, but the fuel pump and fuel filter have NOT been checked. Vac lines look good all round and were recently renewed. I cleaned the throttle body without removing it.
I am thinking from some posts here that the Fuel Pressure Reg could be an issue. Has anyone done it here? Should I DIY it?
I have done most other jobs on a 9-5 but nothing in that area.
Yes, I will do the filter also.... I hear ya, but ANY input would be appreciated. I'm so thankful for this board.
