I am in the process of replacing my leaky PS hydraulic line. it comes in two parts. The front portion with the cooling line that hooks up to the PS pump was doable, not fun, but doable. The rear portion that hooks up to the front portion and runs to the power steering rack is a different animal entirely. It runs right along the front bottom side of the firewall. There is bracket with a small bolt that attaches the hydraulic line to some sort of frame member. I think I can get that one with a gear wrench, but it is gonna be a major pain. However, I cannot figure how I am gonna get at the banjo bolt that attaches the line to the Ps rack. I cant even touch it with my fingers from the bottom, and the line itself blocks getting a gear wrench on it. What am I missing here?
I was thinking about just leaving the back half, but as others have mentioned the fittings are different between the two halves, they will not just screw together. Any help with this one would be appreciated. Thanks.
