Had to Replace My AutoDim Mirror 1 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by FredKolb12 [Email] (#46) [Profile/Gallery] (more from FredKolb12) on Wed, 18 Oct 2017 13:58:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
About two years ago, the activation button would not stay set on the mirror. I was able to do a work-around with a sliver of bamboo from chopsticks that held the button in the on position. Last week, I found that the plastic mounts inside the mirror were broken and it would not stay aimed correctly. (17 years old)
I ordered a replacement from a used parts dealer. Package arrived today, but was the newer mirror with compass and Home-link module. Rather than send it back, I decided to follow a YouTube video that showed how to upgrade to the newer mirror complete with rewiring the connector which is different. The Platonoff Saab web page directions were the same for this model mirror as the old one other than the need for rewiring.
Now I just have to program the Homelink.....
