Yes. The 'new' mirror also had a male connector as does the car so I has to cut off the male connector from the Homelink mirror and solder onto the female connector from the old mirror. First, I wrote down a table of pin numbers and colors of old and new. The red and blue of the newer mirror were not quite the shade of the old so it took extra care to ensure I did it right. Also the grey wire mated to a brownish wire. I might proceed differently if I ever did it again going pin by pin and leaving the connector on as long as possible so I did not make an error or maybe label the wires with numbers. Soldered all joints and used shrink tubing to insulate per the video.
Works fine, but I've yet to program the garage door. Keep Goldwing in mind for some hard to find stuff.
