Is the rheostat part of the light switch or is it separate? I'll check - seem to remember it is. I've tried two different light switches and there was no change in the phenomenon. I never remember this dimming issue ever occurring with the headlights on as previously stated.
I'll have to drive the car with only the parking lights on. I have the "Euro 2" light setting established with a Tech 2 so no DRLs to be concerned about.
Could be the connection on the light switch if the rheostat is incorporated into it. The dimming function worked normally with both switches as I recall.
Where does the signal go from the SID? I can check my WIS.
