but I'm assuming that the heater core is in series with the engine and radiator (not parallel), so theoretically you could simply install a bypass tube to the core and the cooling system would never know. Perhaps it would push a little more water through this line (with reduced restriction), but the heater core is certainly not intended to aid in engine cooling.
I don't know if this will help accomplish what you want, but I can't think how it would hurt the system.
