Re: 2007 fuel pump "retro-conversion" & a note on DIY Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Wed, 10 Oct 2018 10:45:09 In Reply to: Re: 2007 fuel pump DIY?, S-Works, Sun, 7 Oct 2018 17:18:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
While you could do this retrofit, you would need to take the tank out and put in an earlier model tank, and then you would have to deal with the updated EVAP system and other items. So for a project car doing everything from ground up, maybe - otherwise just an OE / OEM replacement for me.
I've done this DIY on one daughter's car. I learned enough to make the next one go much more smoothly.
TIP: In removing the press-in fittings for the fuel lines and the vent tube-to-tank (by filler pipe), use quality GM line disconnect tools AND if they are "hinged", separate the halves so they can be inserted separately in tight spaces.
