Question about Bosch oil filters - a reasonable alternative?

As I searched the eEuroparts website for window regulator parts and various other parts for my 9-5 maintenance, I saw that they carry Bosch oil filter for $3.50 while all the others were at least double the price.
After googling and reading a number or reviews/comparisons of the Bosch filter, I came away with the feeling that they were a bit above average with a common point brought up by a few reviews that they are made by purlator under contract from bosch. Googling reviews of purlator turned up above average in construction and filtering.
I change oil ~ 4-5K, always mobil1 synthetic so I don't push the limits of dirtiness and never in extreme conditions (e.g. towing, high speed racing, etc.)
So question is: Anyone have any negative experiences or insight as to why this might not be a reasonable filter alternative?
thanks
J
