Remember the leaky O-ring that caused the space shuttle Challenger to blow up when they decided to launch it on a record cold morning? Don't worry about any explosions on your SAAB (at least related to this problem), but it's one of the O-rings on the pipe between the water pump and the engine block. I have the same problem this morning although it's a balmy 4 degrees F. The problem will probably go away when it warms up a little and you can put off replacing the O-rings (and water pump since it has to come off anyway) until it warms up enough that you want to do the job. The SAAB folks in warmer climes miss out on these (and a few other) cold-related pleasures. We had about 5 inches of snow yesterday and the TCS and ABS were getting quite a work out however they did their job as designed on my 2001 9-5.
