I have a 2007 9-5 AERO 140K miles that the spouse unit drives. It's problem began by throwing codes aimed at the Air Mass Meter. Replacing the AMM with one from the U Pull & Pay junkyard didn't help. Next was replacing the vacuum lines. Still same codes. Her breakdown came on a road trip to Denver from ABQ where it threw TB codes. Looking at it in the hotel parking lot, I discovered just how dirty the TB was and became immediately PO'd at myself for not being better at the obvious maintenance. Cleaning the TB was good to drive the car home. To try to avoid paying for a new TB I then replaced other components. But the car was unreliable on starting. Replacing the TB instantly solved the problem.
BTW. I also replaced a little check valve on the 9-5. I bought the cheap Proparts one from Eeuro and it instantly broke in half at the seam. Dumbly I bought a 2nd Proparts with the same results. I fixed it with special plastics glue. So no more ProParts crap.
