would you replace this DI cassette? Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Fri, 23 Aug 2019 07:33:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I've gone back and forth on this. '07 9-5 Aero has an aftermarket DI cassette installed, about a year old. My assumption is it's this one (see link below).
If you watch the little propaganda film there, they say their coils are made in a tier 1 manufacturing facility in Poland. So maybe it's a quality unit. On the other hand, that is a generic video which may not even apply to this specific product. And it could also be complete nonsense. I can see no markings anywhere on the unit, so I can't even be 100% sure where it was made, or even if it is the one I think it is. The only information I am basing this on is the shop invoice that lists the part number as UF577. They might just be using that as a place holder number. This is the same shop that charged $500 for no-name springs and $400 for Monroe shocks, and I don't think the part number for the shocks matched what was on the invoice either.
Am I crazy for even considering leaving this DIC in there, is that a bad risk when I can get the NGK one for a couple hundred dollars plus shipping?
