Something I learned when I had to replace a "peanut bulb" in my 2003 9-5, with Xenon lights.
When I put the circular cover on, I tucked the few wires into the cavity and closed it up. I then found that my high-beam shutter on that side got wonky and noisy (although I had not done anything on the Xenon bulb assembly proper at all).
Turned out that when I tucked the wires in, I positioned them over a button on the back of the Xenon housing that seems to have something to do with the shutter function of the headlight assembly. Moving the wires to not interfere with that button cleared things up instantly.
Just thought I'd mention it in case its a simple fix.
