Replacing failed GT 17 turbo in 2003 9-5 Linear with 110K + miles. Car was smoking intermittently at startup for a few months before jolt at cruising speed and engine shut down with blue smoke cloud out tailpipe. Turbo removal reveals intake compressor wheel chewed up and wobbling off axis by 1/2" all around. Have good rebuilt GT17 (2nd rebuild) with nary any side movement and spins very free. Question is where did the chipped off compressor wheel pieces get to? I certainly intend to demount the intercooler and flush out accumulated oil, but should I expect any compressor wheel pieces to remain caught in the intercooler and... if not flushed out, will they safely remain trapped and not headed to the throttle body and potential valve and maybe cylinder damage??!! Gotta get this Swede sled back on the road and reclaim my 2008 Aero I loaned out to the Linear owner... Any guidance appreciated..!!
Thanks..Kirk d
