If the local U-Pick Lot had any 9-5's on the property I would have bought a full lamp panel and taken the wiring harness for the right side lamp cluster. Instead, I scrounged my electrical parts drawer and bought the rest. Three feet of 18ga stranded wire (enough to do this twice or more), a #4-40 brass screw, a #4-40 tap (my existing #4 tap was a 36 and the store had no screws in that size/thread), and automotive insulation penetrating wire splices. The only part I had on hand was small crimp on ring connectors. Not boat or aviation rated but I can plug the body with clear silicone after crimping.
This will be tomorrow's task since rain is forecasted.
Thanks for your confirmation that my planned repair technique is a valid one.
I will also do a continuity check from the lamp board connector pin to the conductor bar to make sure I drill and tap the right one! I know the wire color and pin position. I just want to verify the designers didn't do something funky and have the bars cross-over in a non-visible spot.
