Broken latch on DIC connector Posted by NCCaniac [Email] (#352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NCCaniac) on Mon, 27 Jul 2020 07:47:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am sure this is not a new issue, but the red plastic "latch" on the DIC connector eventually cracks from the heat over time. I was replacing the DIC on my 2008 9-5 Sportcombi yesterday and when removing the old DIC, the latch cracked, breaking off the bottom edges (see photo). This prevented it from properly engaging and latching the connector on the new DIC. For now, I just have the connector plugged in without the latch, but can that be replaced without replacing the whole connector and associated wiring harness? Is it safe to run with the connector just held on to the DIC by the friction of the connector and the pins on the DIC.
