Thanks for asking, Brianati. The biggest reason was the recent retirement of my indie mechanic, Carmen, of Sylcar, who mainly serviced Saabs out of his great affection for the brand, and saw most of his clientele disappear over the years as our Quebec winters and salted roads one after another took their aging cars off the road. For seventeen years Carmen complained about my Saab, it being a 6cyl and its repair something of a challenge compared to the 4cyl lineup which he knew so well and could fix without a second's thought. All the same, when I told him the news, though he agreed it was time, I had the sense he felt like he'd lost something too.
