WIS says the SID is connected to the rheostat and controls the button lighting in the SID. Rheostat level 0% is set if the main light switch is off and fuse 35 for the daytime running lights is removed or if the interior light exceeds a certain level.
Maybe try changing the position of the light switch and rheostat on the light switch. Would you have an extra light switch to try? Also check the connector on the light switch.
