Paint Protection Film Removal

Original owner of my 2008 9-5 Aero had installed a paint protection film to the hood of the car. With dirt and road tar stains bled into the film, it’s time to pull it off and let the original paint be exposed from now on. I don’t know the film brand, but I’ve read that heating it to 120 degrees F should allow pulling it up with my fingernails. I’ve only been able to peel off little bits at ambient temperature. Any advice? THX - Kirk d
