The patient is a 2001 Aero, Automatic, Sedan. The head, pan and hood are already off. I am in the planning stage right now and I have a few questions
Here is why Im replacing the engine: https://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=283716
I dont have an engine hoist, but I could buy one from harbor freight if necessary (and probably sell it when done).
I see some folks remove the axles and subframe and drop it out of the bottom. is that reasonable?
Is it possible to disconnect it from the transmission in situ and remove it that way?
what is the recommended way to go here? Note that I will be doing this solo, my team of excellent mechanics (sons) are back at work full time now and one has moved to CA.
