worst case outcome of TWICE replacement Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Fri, 6 Aug 2021 08:43:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm going to attempt to replace the TWICE in my '07 9-5. I'd like to get a pro to do this, but the official Saab service center near me has declined the job (say they don't do any Saab programming anymore).
Here's what I have to work with:
-current TWICE is mostly functional with only an intermittent problem
-2 keys programmed to the current TWICE
-new TWICE with transponder
-new keyfob only
-borrowed Chinese TECH2, adapters, etc.
My plan was to install the new TWICE, then try to program the new keyfob plus one of the old keyfobs. If everything goes as planned, that's where I'll stop. My hope is that if things go sideways, I can still reinstall the old TWICE and it will still have a working keyfob. Is this possible, or does the act of attempting to program and marry the new TWICE unmarry the old TWICE from the car?
