Thank you for the encouragement, yesterday I picked up our new to us '02 Linear with 72k!
The guy I bought it from was a "caretaker" for a guy who was out of the country 9 months out of the year. Part of his job was to take the Saab out every two weeks for a 30 minute drive. Other than a few minor cosmetic things the car looks fantastic and runs great!
Brand new Michelin Pilots and a new alternator and battery as well!
Questions:
1. The previous owner just put in Denso PK20PR11 plugs. I've always used NGK BCPR7ES(11) I figure I should change them out. Any thoughts? Usually change plugs at 10-15k just as cheap insurance:).
2. The SID unit is pretty much pixel less. If I purchase a replacement does it have to be married to the car with a Tech 2? It doesn't on our 9-3, just not sure how it works on a 9-5 and searching hasn't given a definitive answer.
3. Came with only one key. Best advice on getting another, complete with fob. I know there is programming involved, is it just with the Tech 2 or is the Dell 620 laptop and software required? Again, I've tried the search but it was not fruitful:(.
The Ac also doesn't work but that is livable in the short term and hopefully will be good to go with an o ring or two and a recharge.
Looking forward to working on the car and getting to know it, not shy about digging in and doing the work.
Thank you in advance for suggestions and great thoughts!
Marc
