Thanks to everyone you posted on this. Due to the peculiarities of the supply chain these days, I did order from TireRack.

We don't use the wagon all that much, so I bought the least expensive non-offbrand tires that reviewers agreed had decent winter performance - Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 SL - and TR included 2 years worth of road hazard insurance for no additional cost.

I may need tires for my 9-5 Aero this summer, so that will be another consideration, as I have a set of steelies/snows for the winter on that Saab.
