In fact, the car did experience a bit of a flooding. When I bought the car it was 15 degrees out. Once the weather warmed I suddenly had wet carpets. Everything I ever associated with TWICE still functioned so I wasn't overly concerned until your reply. BTW, the flooding issue wasn't what any of us would expect - the AC drains were clear, the sunroof drains were clear, the bulkhead drain was clear. No evidence of water getting in through door seals, windows, etc. It ended up being something beyond frustrating: The cover for the cabin blower motor was simply missing. Who does that??
Anyway, I had an epiphany this morning and took another look at the corner light bulb holders. I found a bent tab that was arcing and grounding everything out. It looked like someone had, at one point, tried to cram an incorrect bulb into the thing. Amazing that such an isolated thing could jack with the entire system.
As always, thanks for the quick and thoughtful replies.
