I have tried pressurizing 7-8 times over the last 3 days and the ONLY time I have created a leak was when I started with a slightly warm engine and after 3-4 hours I saw a small drip rear right part of the subframe and the first exhaust hanger by the first resonator. I tested overnight starting with a slightly warm engine and the pressure did drop from 17-15 psi overnight BUT no leaks on the block near the pump or on the ground. Am I correct assuming the 2 PSI loss might be from the engine cooling ?
I do see some signs of minor corrosion on the engine block near the water pump area but this car has had 2 water pumps so not certain it's from this go around.
After looking at some videos I think I can handle the repair but it's the wife's car and don't know if the $3-400 savings is worth the potential conflict if it doesn't go well.
Two options at this point.
1. Wait and see if it starts to get worse then address it.
2. Drop a few GM leak tablets and hope for the best ?(Not really sure about this since I have never believed in this type of solution but ....)
