Twenty two years ago a buddy & I went to the new car show in Seattle. We sat in every single car, possibly 50 in all. We both agreed that the Saab 900 had the best "feel" from the drivers seat. It had great visibility & the seats were awesome. Being only 18, this was not a car either of us could afford.
The years past & I always admired the look of a C900, but only from afar. But with a career, three kids & job transfers I never got around to owning one. "Those cars are a nightmare to maintain" was a familiar phrase I heard whenever anyone knew that I had a desire of owning a Saab.
While runnng errands for work one day I spotted a grey Saab for sale in a parking lot. Upon a close inspection, the car was severly neglected. The asking price, $400 as-is where-is. Five days later it was deposited in my driveway by a tow truck.
$7000 later the car is almost finished.
What I learned: * Find a Saab that has been cared for by a loving owner.
* If you want to do a restoration, prepare to spend alot
of time & money.
* Follow the directions of the Saab pros.
* Have patience & see it as a process not a destination.
* I would have been lost without this BB & the internet.
Respectfully,
Kevin
